Our counselling services are self-referred. We simply ask that the person requesting counselling contact book an intake appointment by calling 519-433-0183 x 605
We serve residents of the City of London, Middlesex County or Elgin County.
Some individuals may not be eligible for our services, so we recommend connecting with the following resources:
- If you are involved in the criminal justice system or have criminal charges pending, please reach out to John Howard Society.
- If you are experiencing addictions (including alcohol, drugs, gambling, and internet use), please reach out to CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services.
- If you have been hospitalized due to mental health concerns in the 3 months, please reach out to CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services.
Our regular rate for a 50-minute counselling session is $125.
If you are not able to pay the regular rate and do not have health benefits, we will discuss subsidy or geared-to-income options. Please note the waitlist for subsidized counselling may be 6-12 months due to high demand and limited funds.
OHIP does not cover counselling services. If you have health benefits through your employer, some or all of your fees may be covered. We do not direct bill to providers. We can provide a receipt for your to be reimbursed by your provider.
At your first appointment, your counsellor will talk to you about the problems or stressors that brought you to counselling. They may ask about your history, your family, and your important relationships. Your counsellor will work with you to make a plan for things in your life you would like to change or learn to do differently.
Our wait times can vary depending on the time of year and what services you are requesting. The Intake team will be able to offer an estimate of how long you may wait for ongoing counselling. The wait time for subsidized counselling is up to 6 months.
There is no “one size fits all” answer – on average people benefit from 8 sessions that occur every other week.
Our counsellors are Masters-level psychotherapists or social workers who are registered with their respective professional colleges.
If you or someone you know is in crisis please see our Crisis Resources.
